After shooting a wedding all day Saturday in perfectly clear skies we did a mad rush to recharge all our batteries and ourselves and headed out to Jasmine Plantation to help Katie and Travis celebrate their big day. I was checking the weather nonstop as the storms were set to come but we weren't sure exactly when. We moved our timeline around and everyone did an amazing job of rushing themselves perfect to try to grab some portraits outside before the rain came. Travis and Katie wanted to save that first look for the moment she walked down the aisle. Instead, they opted to do a first touch and letter exchange and save their portraits for after the ceremony. Trevor (my amazing second shooter/husband) and I did a divide and conquer to get both sides of the families and wedding party out for some photos (separately!) before the inevitable rain arrived. We were rushing and may have gotten sprinkled on a little but it was SO worth it. Jasmine Plantation is a super unique and cool spot. There are countless perfect photo spots on the property...more than we were even able to take advantage of in our short window of shooting time outside.
I met Katie and Travis a year ago when we shot their engagement photos out at the Pumpkin Farm and knew right away the wedding was gonna be a good one. I remember editing their photos after and thinking, "why does she look so perfect? who has hair and makeup this perfect?" before realizing that she was a hair and makeup artist. Her hair on her wedding day did not disappoint at all! They were also so relaxed in front of the camera and more importantly, with each other. The fun was nonstop and the love poured out. It was just like that on their wedding day.
The weather may have caused some changes to the plans for the day but it didn't seem to make a difference to anyone. They changed from an outdoor ceremony to the covered tent and said their "I do"s as the rain came down. I came prepared with an umbrella for the newlyweds and we took some photos in the rain afterward. All things that just made their day more unique. We had pretty tight quarters inside to take photos but make magic with the different rooms and their vintage vibe!
I pulled together some random highlights from the day as I didn't want anyone to have to wait for a preview any longer!
Always and forever, super thanks to my super hot second shooter....Trevor Eales!
